Ok, all. I missed florencia7's birthday, and I feel soooo bad. So I am writing a story in her honor, and already made up a plot and EVERYTHING- its a Jack/ OC one, and it seems to be going well so far. I hope to have the first part up soon!! In the meantime, I wanted to show her that I am working. When I seriously work on something, I always make up a soundtrack that helps me think. This is a mushy romantic story, so most of these are love songs. Enjoy!

A MOTHER'S TOUCH

It was in the afternoon, Elizabeth remembered.

The sun was bright and hot, an unusual occurence for a March day in England. Elizabeth was barely knee-high, stuffed into a tinier version of her mother's dress. She felt uncomfortable, and made her discomfort known loudly.

"Hush, little darling." Her mother's soft hand smoothed down her daughter's hair. Elizabeth looked up, but only saw a dark shadow against the bright sun. "Once you get inside, you can be placed into your play clothes."

That was the earliest, and only memory, Elizabeth had ever had of her mother. She was only five years when her mother had fallen ill, and six years old when she passed away.

Elizabeth leaned back further into netting, her breeched legs tangled into the roping for safety. Closing her eyes and enjoying the Caribbean sun, Elizabeth remembered her mother, and the promise she made.
